Mulberry Street Sidewalks

Beginning in the month of May, the City of Attleboro will begin repairing existing sidewalks and installing new sidewalks, along Mulberry Street from James Street to Martin Street utilizing a combination of Community Development Block Grant Funding and Chapter 90 funds.

The sidewalk construction will take place over several weeks, and the construction is weather dependent. Crews will complete one side first and then move to the other side of the street to maintain pedestrian access. The first phase of construction will include removal of the existing sidewalk. Following this, curbing will be realigned. Next, sidewalks will be poured. The final phase of the sidewalk construction will include repair of driveways. Public Works crews and our contractor will work with each resident to try and minimize the disruption caused by the construction

Additionally , residents will need to remove any personal property (plantings, fencing , etc.) located in the City Right of Way, before new sidewalk construction can begin. The City will require an additional six feet {6') of City Right of Way, where new sidewalks are to be installed, to be cleared of resident s personal property.

We recognize that roadway construct ion may also bring dust and noise. Please accept our advance apologies for any inconvenience caused. Your patience is very much appreciated. If you have any questions, or need more information, please contact me at 508-223-2222, ext. 3154 or by e-mail at dpwsupervisor@cityofatt leboro.us.

Respectfully,

Michael R. Tyler
