Ballot Drop Box

The ballot drop box is now in service at City Hall (by the back door). You may drop off the application for the mail-in ballot, as well as the actual ballot itself. This box will be emptied a couple of times a day and it will also have a security camera on it with a live feed and recording.

If you are still uncomfortable leaving your mail-in ballot application or the ballot itself in this box, you may go to the second floor of City Hall and hand your voting materials directly to someone in person at the Elections Office. However we prefer to minimize the amount of traffic in city hall because of the pandemic and it would be appreciated if you use the box.

You may use this if you would like or you may vote in person. Both are your right.

If you requested a mail-in ballot but you changed your mind and want to vote in person, there is a process to make sure that people cannot vote twice.

This ballot box is recommended by the Secretary of State of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, but it is not mandated. We hope that this will make your voting experience easier and safer.
