WATER KNOWLEDGE FOR KIDS
What do we use water for?
All plants and animals need water to survive. Our bodies and other animals’ bodies use water for hydration and digestion of food. Plants use water in order to grow and use nutrients from the environment as well.
Some plants and animals, such as fish, reptiles, amphibians, aquatic birds, otters, beavers, algae, aquatic plants, and others use the water as their home.
Many businesses need water in order to operate. Restaurants, gyms, factories, and laundromats cannot run without clean water, and the Fire Department cannot fight fires without water either!
Farms need clean water to irrigate crops and to keep animals healthy.
At home, we cannot bathe, brush our teeth, go swimming, or wash clothing or cars without clean water.
