When Can I Receive COVID 19 Vaccine?
On Tuesday, March 16th, the Attleboro Health Department received notification that a regional COVID 19 clinic proposal (involving Fall River, Taunton Attleboro & Swansea/Somerset) was approved and Attleboro will host a site one day a week. This approval does not result in immediate availability of vaccine with the current supply constraints and we anticipate it may be at least several weeks before we may be able to begin. We will release information once all clinic details are finalized and vaccine is available.
In the interim, we are working on clinic operations. The clinic is proposed to be on Mondays in Attleboro at the LaSalette Shrine. Clinics are for people who live, work, or study in Massachusetts and meet the current eligibility requirements. On March 17th, Governor Charlie Baker will release the vaccination timeline for all groups.
On March 12th, Boards of Health/Health Departments were requested to submit to MADPH their intent to conduct COVID 19 vaccination efforts for individuals who meet the definition of” homebound”. Due to the numbers being received, the Health Department is deferring these vaccination efforts to the MADPH Mobile Vaccine Teams. Tentatively, these efforts are to begin within the next month. We await additional information on how to best submit names to MADPH so a screening process can occur.
Information will be updated on the City web site and on the COVID 19 Hotline (508) 223-2222 ext. 3908 as it changes. People are still able to pre-register at the link below for other sites and may also call "211" if they do not have computers or internet access.
