Dear Attleboro residents who use the City sewer system

In recent months, the city has spent spent approximately $4200 of your money on overtime removing flushable wipes from pumps in the city sewer system. This figure does not account for many more blockages that were removed during normal business hours.

If the wasted money from these pumps getting clogged isn’t enough to deter people from putting these cleaning wipes down the toilet, please know that when these pumps get clogged, they cause a back up and sewage from other homes can come back up into your toilet, sinks, bathtubs and showers.

Please do your part by not putting any of these cleaning wipes into your toilet. Please throw them away in a proper trash receptacle.

Here are some photos of blocked pumps. The figure in one of the photos is Gunther Ilic. He is the Foreman of the maintenance department.
